Back on Track gave me the only treatment I ever learned anything useful from.
Back on Track was conceived out of our founder’s awareness of the striking lack of resources available in Maine to youth who are considered “hard core” or high-risk for being involved in the corrections system, using drugs and alcohol, and other problem behaviors. We have been well received by the Department of Corrections, the Juvenile Courts, other service providers, alternative education programs, and our students and their families. While we aim to provide an exceptional service that parents, providers, and corrections personnel deem valuable, we have been most impressed by the requests from the youths themselves to attend our program. One of our past graduates commented that Back on Track provided the “only treatment (he) ever learned anything useful from.” Repeatedly we hear feedback from parents and providers about their youth using the skills we have taught them to make better decisions. These decisions are motivated not only by their own self-interest, but also their awareness of the impact their actions have on others.
